We have seen the future of urban innovation and...it's the Tumml Winter 2014 Cohort! On Tuesday, May 6th, Tumml hosted an event to honor its Winter cohort. We kicked off the evening with a fireside chat between California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom and investor Jason Calacanis on the future of urban impact entrepreneurship. They talked about tech shuttles in San Francisco, the value of investing in urban impact entrepreneurs, etc -- it was pretty amazing. You can check out a video of the full conversation here:
After that, Tumml's Winter 2014 Cohort of urban impact entrepreneurs discussed the urban challenges they were looking to solve and why it was that their market-based approaches were the right ones for these particular challenges. The whole incredible event took place within the California Historical Society's Juana Briones y su California museum exhibition on early entrepreneurship in California (check out the event photo gallery below). Can't wait to host our next urban innovation studio in September!
